The Student Handbook must be read by all students prior to attending the program. It contains critically important information on what gear you need and how to prepare for the program. Download it here:

Awards
Once you've attended Winter Mountaineering School, keep on hiking, climbing, and start leading trips to earn the following Awards:
WMS V - Badge: Ascend one 5,000+ foot (1525m) and four 4,000+ foot (1220m) Adirondack peaks in winter.
WMS X - Badge: Ascend two 5,000+ foot (1525m) and eight 4,000 foot (1220m) Northeastern US peaks in winter.
WMS Winter Leadership Award: Designed to test mountaineers and give back to the WMS community. See Details....
